Showing Nintendo some Love! (again)
For those that follow my tweets, you will know that I have been hankering for some Mario action since the departure of my Wii.
Well, just over a year since I sold my DS Lite I have gone and purchased a DSi. Compared to the original DS, it is a much more advanced bit of kit with DSiWare, 2 x Cameras, improved sound adding to a list of tweeks and improvements over the original dual screen handheld.
I’ve gone a little game crazy already too – although there’s a LOT, and I mean a LOT of poor third party titles for the DS there are some absolute corkers worthy of a 5 star rating such as Mario Kart DS and New Super Mario Bros. DS.
I have so far bought the two above plus The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, GTA: Chinatown Wars, 42 All-Time Classics, and with the 1000 Nintendo Points that were kindly bundled with my DSi I have downloaded from the DSi Shop Mario vs Donkey Kong: Minis March Again.
Fear not Xbox followers, the purchasing of a DSi does not mean the 360 will be gathering dust – I just now have the opportunity to game for more hours in the day, it’s sneaking the DS in to work that will be the difficult bit!
I look forward to hearing your recommendations for good DS games.
EA Sports MMA Reveal
During this weekends Strikeforce event EA give us a first glimpse of their upcoming alternative to UFC Undisuted.
Whether this will be a serious competitor to the UFC game, only time will tell, but EA rarely do things by halves!
Modern Warfare PS3 vs 360 Comparison
German website videogameszone.de have posted some nice comparative graphical shots of the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
Being a bit of a Xbox 360 man, I’m glad the way the graphics are looking on Microsoft’s machine.

Arcade Riot Launches!
So… I haven’t posted anything new for a while, that’s because I’ve been busy with Soodalin and Josh_UK creating our new community site Arcade Riot - please come and check it out and join our community.

Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Halloween Trailer
Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing is a game that I am quickly warming to. I hope it fills the fun, family, multiplayer karting gap that the 360 lacks. It looks nice, but let’s hope Sega put in some solid work on the handling and gameplay, I’m not expecting a Mario Kart beater, just something close would be nice.
This latest trailer shows another popular Sega franchise The House of the Dead whose Curien Mansion is revealed as a track in this new Halloween trailer.
UK Game News – News
Although most of you will be aware by now, the decision has been taken to call time on UK Game News and the site was taken down yesterday.
It’s difficult to compete with Twitter when trying to be a news site, but one of the positives that we’ve taken from the site is the community that we grew and continue to talk to.
